How to find a playgroup

Postby Mel12345 » Wed Oct 06, 2021 9:59 am

Hello, I have recently moved to the UK and would love to find a playgroup to take my 2 year old to so she can interact and play with other kids. I am looking for something local that I can go to with her to meet other parents. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Whereabouts are you living? I believe Rise & Shine has started up again on a Wednesday at St Mark’s on Battersea Rise. Worth checking out the website (smbr.church) or calling the office on 020 7223 6188.

I saw a sign at St Luke’s church advertising their playgroup recently. Thursday afternoons I believe.

There always used to be one in Balham Baptist Church on Ramsden Rd and one in The Ascension Church on Malwood Road. And the Playhouse Playgroup at the Romany off Wandsworth Common. But I don’t know how many of these have re opened post covid.

That’s a brilliant suggestion - I’ve not been to the playhouse one, but friends who have loved it. Pretty sure I’ve seen them advertising spaces recently - visit

Thank you Lemonzest and pie81 for your suggestions. Those places look wonderful but might be a little far away. I am located between battersea park and Clapham common. I don't have a car yet and was hoping for something closer to home. Rise and shine might be a good option though. I think it is a 30 minute walk.
