Thurleigh Road Practice

Postby chorister » Sat Oct 30, 2021 2:59 pm

I write this based on my personal experience in getting a COVID booster jab at Thurleigh Road Practice. I have nothing but praise for the whole experience, starting from when I was first invited for a booster but had to reschedule because I was away through to the actual experience. The volunteers, practice admin staff and clinicians were all excellent and the whole thing was very well organised and ran like clockwork. Possibly time to stop believing all the stuff in the press about GP practices.

Wow, you actually got an appointment with them?
I've given up trying.

I visited the surgery today, and felt so sorry for the receptionist as a patient was so abusive and blaming her for not able to provide her an appointment on her demand.  I think staff are working hard and they are due a respect!

I was very frustrated with the attitude during lockdown but I feel they are making a great effort of late and I have been very impressed by them all. It's been hard on everyone

We had the same experience with the booster vaccination organisation. It was excellent, everyone working together. Well done.

I could not have had a more different experience with the Thurleigh Road Practice. I have not heard anything from them regarding COVID vaccines. Friends registered at other practices have not had this experience. Each time I have had an anxious wait and eventually booked through the NHS booking service when it became available for my age band.

I repeatedly approached the practice with peri-menopausal symptoms over the last 5 years and was treated for depression. It was only after I was at my wits end and the issue had been covered extensively in the media that I made a direct request for HRT and am now angry it took so long. Over this time I asked repeatedly for an appointment with the specialist in this area Dr. Nasiruddin and it was never possible. I hope my experience was not the norm and that women at the practice now have better access to specialist menopause care at the Thurleigh Practice.
