Lifesaver/Marriage-saver!

Postby Celine5 » Thu Dec 09, 2021 10:00 am

I just wanted to recommend the fabulous Lynlea West @ lynleaweststudio and told her I would put this post out as I feel so strongly about what she helped me do! It really is no exaggeration to say she helped my sanity and my marriage when she came into my life! My whole family were miserable with a house that didn't 'work' and a half-done extension & tbh I felt totally overwhelmed and out of my depth.I felt completely unsupported (to be fair husband out from dawn tis dusk) and really unconfident about making the big design decisions. Her main ethos is to leave you with a house you love, that 'works' for all its family members and really leaves you with a HOME that you can't wait to get back to at the end of the day. I can only say, if this story sounds familiar to you, look her up. You'll see her testimonials speak for themselves. She's also great fun!

Awww bless you for your kind words lovely.  It was an absolute pleasure working with you and your gorgeous family!!

Do you know that’s actually not the first time I’ve been called a marriage-saver!!! There are a whole lot of ladies out there with partners who have zero interest in their home renovations.  And yep, the decision-making does rather typically fall on the women … leaving them, shall we say, a tad frustrated with said-partners. 😉

When I went into interior design over 20 years ago it was purely because I loved designing beautiful hotels and properties.  As time’s gone on I realise I am a long way from being ‘just a designer’..  I am a wing woman, a replacement partner, a diplomat (for those rare occasions partners do have opinions, or indeed just want to know where to fit in a massive TV 😘) and bringer of joy 💕 … and that’s the way I love it!

Thanks again for the shout out.  I’m actually starting a new venture in the New Year.  For all those lovely ladies out there who have got those annoying home design decisions running around in their heads driving them bonkers, I am going to do a one day online workshop.

This way you can have access to me to get those questions out of your head and get decisions made!  Yay … from frustration to fabulousness!!

And I'm including access to some of my fab trade discounts.  Kick start to the New Year. 💥

By the way I’ve only just launched this, and am capping this first workshop to 6 people so everyone has time for 1:1.  Only a couple of spots left.

You can message me for details, or contact me on 07984 420 827 and I can send you the link with the all the goodies!

All the best,
Lynlea

PS Best wishes Celine  - wishing you and the family a very Merry Christmas in your lovely home. Mwah xx

Having read this, I just wanted to jump on here to give Lynlea another review.
For anyone who needs help sorting out their home interiors I would highly recommend her.  She helped me on our new home when we first arrived in Balham.

I had two kids under 5, had never done any renovations before, had very challenging builders, and was drowning in it all!

There were so many decisions that were just sending me over the edge, all needing to be made quickly.  Lynlea saved the day.   The room that I was finding the hardest was my girls’ bathroom.  I’m really into bright colours, and wanted a fun bathroom for them. I had a general idea about the sort of tiles I wanted, but Lynlea recommended a great supplier that had just the colours I wanted, and wasn’t crazy expensive. She then helped me resolve what pattern all these colours would go in, which I just couldn’t get my head around!
This way I actually had an answer for the builders when they asked me about the pattern at the last second – as they seemed to ask everything!
Lynlea helped with all the stress points in the project.

Her support and experience was absolutely invaluable to get me through to the other side unscathed!
Looking at the workshop Lynlea's organising, it would've been a life saviour all of those years ago!

Well hello lovely, I wasn't sure who SkippingGirls was ... but as soon as you mentioned those bright bathroom tiles and the pattern - I was there!  Lovely to hear from you, and thanks for popping in with your very kind words.

Yes if I had have done the workshop back then I could absolutely see you would have loved it!!  Time to chat through your tile dramas, but also sharing and learning with other lovely women.  It was lovely working with you 1:1. I'm finding more and more as I go on though, that there is so much power in women sharing and learning (and moaning and laughing 😘) together.  Love it!

Anyway lovely, wishing you all the very best.  Thanks again, and have a glorious Christmas. 🎄✨💫

Hi

Just came here to say with all due respect that plenty of men get involved with home renovations. In our household it’s 50/50 when we’ve moved houses, bought a property, renovated it, etc.

My other half (a man) has opinions on all this home design stuff just like me. I work full time like he does and we share the load and burden on home renovations.

Thanks.

Hi moonlightdawn Thank you for sharing your point. Yes you're right. I have certainly come across some fabulous men who share the renovation load.  I’ve also had a few male clients who have taken the lead which is brilliant (but, yes to be fair, unusual).  Lovely to hear that your other half shares it all 50/50 - sounds like you’ve got a good one!

In my experience, on the many projects that I’ve worked on, it has typically been women who have handled most of the main renovation decisions, and relate to the feeling of the weight of these being on their shoulders (many also working full time too).  I have often been referred to as a substitute partner!

A huge hoorah for all the men taking up the reigns though too. We are all for it, and I am absolutely here to offer my support and experience to all 💥💥💥

Hello, hello Nappy Valley lovelies,

Thanks so much. I've had a lot of people contacting me about my interior design 'GET SORTED WORKSHOP' - perfect to get decisions made and cross a whole lot of stuff off your never-ending list!!

This was one of the big questions -

Will you do a weekend workshop?

I was asked this A LOT so have decided to add a super special one into the mix!!  Yesss!  (Daddy on kid duty for the day 😘)

To get involved in the Weekend special just text me 07984 420 827 and I will send you through all the juicy details, including SUPPLIER DISCOUNTS

Jump on board to GET SORTED - just TWO PLACES LEFT so snap them up!

Hope to see you on the inside!!

Lynlea 💕

P.S. From Kate in my first workshop "It's a great way to get clear about finishes, pieces and placement. I came out of the day with a CLEAR IDEA about what was going to work in the rooms I'm decorating (I've already been citing loads of tips and rules from the session when I'm talking to my husband and friends as if I'm an interior designer ;-) )

Just text 07984 420 827 to get clear like the gorgeous Kate!!  🚀
