Balham meet up for neurodiverse girls

Postby Lavender4ndg » Thu Jan 13, 2022 4:57 pm

Hi everyone - Lavender is a social group set up by two local mums to provide opportunities for girls and young women with a range of neurodevelopmental diagnoses to meet up. Our members tend to be in mainstream schools (but aren't always) and have diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, dyspraxia/DCD, dyslexia, tourettes and others. We aim to be as open and inclusive as possible - lots of the young people who come along feel very anxious about going to new places and meeting new people and we are aware that they may not want to stay very long at first.
We also know that getting a diagnosis can be a long and difficult road, so it's fine to come along if you don't have one yet.
While the girls are having some social time, parents and carers can have some time for a coffee and a chat in the same venue.
Our next meet up is on Sunday January 23rd from 4.00-6.00pm in the cinema room at the Exhibit in Balham and is for girls aged 11+.
If you'd like to join us or find out more about the group, please reply here or pop us a direct message and we'll be in touch.

Hi, we do meet fairly regularly, although not always in Balham. We tend to post everything on our Facebook group - search for Lavender Parent Support Group and request to join.
We also have an evening meet up for parents coming up soon.
