The surgery has indeed gone downhill. Cannot get through to speak to a doctor even if it’s urgent. Their stock answer is ring 111 or go to A&E. This is not serving their patients in the community.
They do not process urgent prescription requests even in emergencies, despite promising to. Ring again the following day, speak to another receptionist who promised to sort this out but promptly forgets and goes home... ring the same day in the evening querying if the prescription has been sent to the pharmacy...now I’m really upset and in pain, desperate for my medication only to be told the receptionist went home and must have ‘forgotten’ to process it.
Third time lucky and I got my pain medication on day 3. So wrong!!!
The phones .... oh boy! It’s amazing that many a time, after hanging on forever, waiting to speak to a receptionist that the phone gets disconnected.
I have witnessed irate patients outside the surgery (some were kept waiting half an hour to pick up paperwork/ prescriptions) with just one male receptionist dealing with the people outside and inside. There was open talk of how the surgery had gone downhill.
Thurleigh Road Practice need to ‘up their game’ and resume serving their community.
