TMJ Teeth grinding - masseter botox?

Postby Teeth Grinder » Sat Sep 02, 2023 12:07 pm

Hi can anyone who experiences bruxism and has opted for botox in the masseter joints to relieve the involuntary night time clenching share any positive or negative experiences please. Or if you have had any success with other treatments. I'm currently using braces to fix a misaligned bite but my grinding is still sometimes dreadful to the point that I'm woken up with the pain mostly on one side. I will be getting a mouth guard when the braces come off but I'm a while away
I've never tried botox and have no plans to for cosmetic reasons and kind of wary of it all but if it can be used to relieve this pain and damage to my teeth I would consider it. Appreciate any experiences shared.

Yes, I have used Botox for bruxism. It definitely helped but is only a short term solution (for me, it lasted about three months, but I understand that it varies by person). I had it done at Balham Dental Studio and would recommend the team there.

hi, try google "facial yoga for bruxism " that might help and is more long term
I use every night since 20 years ago an item on the mouth (cant find word in english ) to stop the teeth getting damaged
facial yoga is a solution
my dentist never mentioned botox...perhaps it didnt exist 20 years ago...
regards

Good morning!

Teeth grinding leading to headaches, TMJ dysfunction and general discomfort can be hard to handle! I have an aesthetics clinic in Wandsworth Common and have treated lots of women and men with Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections in the masseter muscle when conventional treatments such an exercises and a mouthguard have been unsuccessful. You are welcome to book a free consultation with myself to discuss what the treatment involves including length of results, side effects etc.

My website is : www.felicityaesthetics.com.
I can also send you some feedback and tips from current patients.

Happy festive season!
