Family holiday to Zanzibar

Postby bunny20 » Sun Jan 28, 2024 7:33 pm

Hello

We are looking to organise a potential family holiday to Zanzibar in either July/August of this year. We would love some recommendations from anyone who has been there as to which part of the Island is best for families or does it matter? Any tips/advice gratefully received.

Thank you

Hi! Zanzibar is a stunning island to travel in July/August to for Indian Ocean beaches as the long rains are over. A visit to Stone Town is a must as little has changed over the centuries . Also perfect as a beach stay after a safari in Tanzania.
East coast is windier as it is more tide dependant than the West but offers those white pristine beaches. The north tends to have the best beaches and some incredible hotels. I have sent clients to a wonderful hotel called Zuri Zanzibar on the north west coast. They absolutely loved it.
Happy to help you with some suggestions and quotes. Pm me or call me on 07866805050. Sheryl

I can highly recommend a chat with the brilliant James O’Leary of Travel Counsellors. He’s organised a couple of trips for me and he’s just amazing with suggestions. He even checked us in for our flights!! 0207 112 8135

The idea of staying on the beach after a safari in Tanzania is really great, I think I need such a vacation too, I need to push my possibilities.

Try Matemwe Bungalows in Zanzibar - and make sure you visit Stonetown - an absolutely fascinating place with masses of history (I'm not a travel agent).  The monument in the cathedral put up after independence to commemorate the people from the Royal Navy who died combatting slavery might offer you a different perspective from the usual narrative.
