Camp Suisse - does anyone have any feedback?

Postby lmd.edwards » Thu Nov 10, 2022 6:08 pm

Hi
I’m seriously considering Camp Suisse ski camp for my two daughters in Feb half term and have had a really encouraging and supportive conversation with the staff there so far but I just wondered if anyone has sent their child/ren to the camp and had any feedback?
Many thanks.

Hi lmd,
I rarely post on a personal basis but happy to do so on this occasion as I think that Camp Suisse is a real gem.

My daughter went to one of the summer camps way back and had a ball. Not the ski camp but the original summer camp in Torgon. She was full to bursting of her adventures when she returned, talked endlessly of being in the mountains and on the lakes, having fun sleeping in cabins and is still in touch with several overseas friends that she made during that week several years on.

Writing as a parent I couldn't recommend it highly enough and I know that she agrees (I just asked her!).

She did a little interview with Julie who founded and runs the the business whilst she was there ...

Thanks so much Annabel, that’s really helpful. It sounds like your daughter had a blast! it’s always a leap of faith to pack your kids off with strangers but my instinct tells me that it’s a really good quality camp with kind and caring adults and it’s good to hear thats the case.

Hi - did you send your kids to Camp Suisse in the end? Mine are currently complaining that they won’t get to go skiing again til next Easter so I’m wondering if I send them next feb half term - but similarly unsure without a recommendation!

Yes! I can absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend Camp Suisse. My two daughters went last year (age 14 and 10 at the time) and totally loved. It. So much so, they couldn’t wait to go again this year. We used the coach service both times and I can honestly say it’s a fantastic company run by wonderful people. I too was quite apprehensive before I booked (you may find an old post of mine on here asking for info) but having talked to Richard lots before they went, I decided to trust my instincts and it was great. There is a parent what’s app group and Facebook page set up for the week your child is there and the directors are very good at sending updates and the professional photos they take and post are amazing, the smiles on the kids faces are genuine and say it all. We will be booking for year 3. Please do reach out to me if you have any further questions.

Hello,
Also thinking ahead for Feb 2025 for my son who's 14 and daughter 12. If you are Clapham/Battersea based and are considering it, get in touch. It'd be good to know other parents and kids who are also doing the camp. Thanks

Hi ameliept

I am mum of 15 yo girl, and are seriously considering the ski camp Feb 2025. We are based in NW London and thinking about the coach opt.
My biggest worry was, since lots of secondary schools having their own ski trips, there might not be that many kids her age.
I was reassured that’s not the case :)

Hi Bea,

That’s great to know. When I spoke to CS, they did say that it skews a little older (13/17) which also reassured me especially for my son. Apparently they also try to keep kids of the same age together for ski lessons.
That half term spans over a few weeks so it will be full for sure!

Hi, yes they are very good in communications and the reviews are all positive- on Google search 😉
My daughter school doesn’t offer skiing trip, so I am really looking into sending her somewhere. Past seasons it’s usually just me and her. And it gets bit boring for her now. The only one think i am concerned is the coach journey. Very handy - but it’s a long way.

Is 11 too young to send on their own if they have never ski'd before?
