My house contents insurer has just added “minimum standards of security” conditions to our renewal policy which now states that we must have key operated locking devices on all accessible windows.
We are in a typical victorian terrrace and have sash windows with screw latches and dead bolts which limit how far the windows can open (and can sit directly above them to lock them which we use on holiday) and are key operated. I am wondering if anyone knows if these will be enough or if there are other types of locks for sash windows that we need to buy?
Many thanks!
