Most parents I talk to, share a few common goals when considering getting their kids into music early. First, we all want our kids to enjoy music—not just in a casual way, but to develop a love for it. Whether they stick with piano, or guitar, or decide to try something else, the goal is to help them form a lifelong relationship with music.
Then, there’s the hope that early music lessons will help with overall brain development—stuff like memory, language, and even math.
It’s no secret that music has all these amazing benefits for a child’s cognitive growth, and starting young gives them a head start.
But another goal that doesn’t get talked about enough is teaching patience and discipline.
Learning an instrument doesn’t come easy, and that’s a good thing. We’re helping kids understand that some things take time, and that it’s okay to make mistakes along the way.
