Does anyone have any experience of this? Direct Line wanted to charge me an additional £450 per year for the privilege!
Having declined this tempting offer, I tried John Lewis car insurance. After spending a good few minutes detailing the visa status of my nanny (indefinite leave to remain not being initially considered sufficient) and having it checked with a supervisor, I then lost my patience with the salesperson when she started getting worked up about my husband being French - and wanting to know if he had the right to live in the UK. Yes, I replied, he's lived here for years. Oh, she said after yet again checking with her supervisor, well we'll do the quote, but we'll just have to see who's prepared to cover a French national.
Or, as I suggested, we could NOT do the quote, and I could call someone else. Any suggestions?
