Re: Do you drive a 4x4

we all have the responsibility to drive carefully & do our best for our families & communities no matter what we drive. drive whatever you like or can afford. just take care....better without the mobile...

don't be fooled that a car or house or husband gives you some status, we all really know that being kind, funny, caring, loving & such good things is where its really at! the rest is a smoke screen for unhappiness & pettiness!

i agree there are bad drivers in all car types. but i think that there is a rather awful driving attitude around schools which appears to stem from being late & in a hurry which causes severe selfishness & frequently dangerous driving, parking is tricky & pressured so come earlier. or walk!

there is a noticeably large amount of 4x4 in the area but that is up to the drivers. i have a nippy car that gets into the smallest spaces & can fit couple kids, camping trips & more & really couldn't drive a large vehicle on a regular basis on shortish trips in London. i have driven 4x4s & loved the height & sturdiness but that was in a WAR ZONE with bomb craters in the roads & worse.....mmm bit more essential but hey most people there didn't have 4x4 either & there was envy trust me based on survival!

so drive carefully, be kind & thoughtful....we are lucky people....happy Christmas everyone

I can see why people are against 4x4 drivers. I have one because getting in and out of a smaller car is almost impossible after four operations on my back. So please don't pre-judge people on a generalised basis.
I feel the same way when I am being sworn at by White Van drivers for not crossing the road in the time it takes for the little green man to start bleeping at Lavender Hill post office or the north end of Northcote Road at the crossroads with Battersea Rise. Sorry, was there another generalisation in there?!

Hi

Just wanted to say - well said, urbanSWmum, easy to get bogged down in a lot of other things and lose perspective!

I love my 4 x 4. And I drive it as carefully as I would any other car in this area.
And anyone who thinks they can dictate to people what they should and shouldnt do -- is probably living in the wrong part of the world.
Great Britain -- its a democracy. What you going to do next...start shouting at people with chocolate wrappers in their rubbish bags??

No one is dictating to you, we are just judging you. A lot. That's allowed in a democracy.
