Anyone know a local charity to donate presents to?

Postby ellta » Tue Dec 06, 2011 9:41 pm

Hi all,

I feel like I have spoilt my children this year with Christmas presents (volume rather than cost) and would really like to give someone else a better Christmas. Mindful of the current economic climate I'm sure there are local children whose families won't be able to give gifts this year. Does anyone know of any charities collecting gifts for local children? Thanks

St Anne's church donate toys at a toy service to Welcare which is a local charity supporting families. The service has already happened but maybe you can contact welcare direct....

I've taken things in the past to the Wimbledon Guild. I just called them and they asked if items can be wrapped and labeled with boy or girl and the appropriate age. They are accepting donations until 22/12. Take items to Guild House, 30/32 Worple Road, Wimbledon, SW19 4EF

THANK YOU!

Music for Children is a wonderful local charity who are currently collecting toys for disadvantaged children.
http://www.music4children.org/

The charity runs the White Lion pub in Streatham and I think they are colelcting there but worth giving them a ring to check arrangements.

A bit more info fyi:
"Music4Children.org raise funds and awarness of children in need through the power of musical events, both normal and extreme". They built an orphanage in Nepal through funds raised by mounting the worlds highest gig.
