March Holiday Suggestions Please

Postby hjm » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:26 pm

Hi, can anyone help? We are looking for a week of sun in March. We are really looking for an apartment within a resort. We have a 2 year old so we don't want a hotel room as otherwise we will have to go to bed at 7pm too!

We've been to both Pine Cliffs in the Algarve and Aprodite Hills in Cyprus and liked both of those. Ideally we want somewhere in the Canary Islands or somewhere else where we can guarantee the weater at that time of year,

Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you!

We have just booked a family holiday with our nearly 2 year old twins and it came down to two hotels.

Stella di Mare in Sharm - 2 bedroom appartment
The Savoy in Sharm - Family room (1 bed)

We went for the Savoy in the end but both are as nice as each other. Weather around 24-26 degrees and both hotels have heated pools. I've asked every question in the world to both of these hotels regarding babysitting, highchairs, kids clubs, pool depths so please just shout if you want anymore info!

how about Dubai? if you go beginning of March weather should be ok. If you leave it later it may be too hot. Stay on the Palm of you want the best beach or Jumeriah Beach residences if you want to be closer to shops/ restaurants etc. you can get apprtments at both places and these are much more reasonable than hotels. Good luck!

Egypt is safe.. All the stuff on the news is plane journeys away from Sharm...

Sharm is lovely, weather is good and most hotels are 5 star and have loads to do with different foods, seperate kiddies pools, and loads of stuff for kiddies to do.

Thomson do great holidaus especially for kids that provide crb checked staff that also do babysitting, most from England (which is a bonus)

Good luck

On a similar note, we are about to book 2 weeks in Sri Lanka for late Feb/Early march but we have met with some strong concerns from the grandparents on both sides. Our little boy is 18 months and we are both quite experienced travellers. Has anyone been or have any advise please?
thanks

Thanks for your replies everyone. I looked at all the recommendations today and came across an amazing deal at the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh. If you are travelling with children they will put you in a two bedroom suite for the price of a normal bedroom. You also get 3 hours of babysitting a day in your room included, so you can go out for dinner once the little ones are in bed. It's $290 USD a night (about £185) and includes breakfast. Thought I would share it in case anyone else is interested.

We've stayed there - lovely beach, great pool, good choice of restaurants within the resort and very nice apartments - enjoy!
