HAIR CRISIS magic hairdresser needed

Postby happynanny » Wed Dec 09, 2009 5:54 pm

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a hairdresser capable of miracles? A few weeks ago, I succumbed to the temptation of a free haircut by a trainee (not working, short of cash,...stupid!). My hair looked horrendous. I think she was aiming for Victoria Beckham 'pob'...I don't have the cheekbones for it. That wasn't the worst...it was a truly awful cut. Really short at the back, whole chunks missing at the sides...not pretty.
In desperation (vanity is a terrible mistress,lol)... I maxed out my emergency credit card and had extensions put it. Thought they would solve all my problems, but no! They're not brilliant, really heavy and uncomfortable and very very high maintenance so thinking of cutting my losses and getting them taken out, but I need to find a hairdresser that could salvage what's left of my hair. Of course, until the extensions are out, you can't see quite how awful my hair is, and once they're out...it's done.
So..the moral of the story is never let a trainee cut your hair (!!!)...and I'd be very grateful if anybody knows someone who can rescue me from years of bad hair.

Hello HappyNanny,

I can recommmend a couple of people! Personally, Nikki or Gwen at Jo Partridge. 0208 682 1066.
OR if you are happy to go over to Battersea, I have a friend who raves about Anita Cox on Battersea Rise - I have to say she always looks great. 0207 223 8888.

Good luck and I hope you're happy with the result!

That's brill, thanks.. I checked out the other recommendations but not convinced their student budget friendly, lol. I don't suppose you have an email address for Isabel? Just had my phone stolen (Lucky is not my middle name!) so could take a few days to sort out and I'd love to get my hair sorted. If not, maybe you would be so kind as to pass on mine (part-timenanny@hotmail.com) and ask her to contact me?
Thanks.

Oh Poor you! I can recommend Keng at Jo Partridge on Abbeville Road - he manages to tame both my pregnancy hair (which is beyond mad) and sort out the post-partum mess it becomes. He's also very lovely!

Hi Happynappy,

I've recently found 2 hairdressers at a salon in town that are AMAZING! Now I have a baby and am pregnant again I can't go as often as i used to so I really look for ward to my haircut but also it's really important that I get the look I want. I must have tried every salon in Balham and Northcote road over the years and just wasn't happy once I'd got home and washed it myself, the cut was never right, just disguised with a good blow dry!

Try Ashley or Charlie at BLOWW, just off Regent Street. www.bloww.com, they're a bit more expensive but worth every penny!
