I was going to say do NOT use The Wooden Floor Specialists in Cavendish Road. They laid an oak entrance hall for me, that was very nice so I got them to install a kitchen floor in top of the range Junkers solid maple, I think it is. I was assured that it was perfect for a kitchen, I particularly asked about water being spilled. ABSOLUTELY fine I was told. Floor was installed at great cost, looked wonderful and within a month edges started to lift. They returned (4 of them) and said that water had been spilled and nothing could be done. Water? On a kitchen floor? Some of the floorboards have also got large gaps between them. They came back again, stuck some filler in and within 2 months the gaps were back. The floor now looks truly awful, what a waste of over £3,000. The floor was not varnished when it was laid which, I would have thought was vital to protect the wood on a kitchen floor, Junkers say they advise it, Wooden Floor people say they do not ever do it! Great! They have been back about 6 times, done nothing except say drips of water are bad for the floor!
