I have just had my second baby aged 41 and 8 1/2 years after my first. She is learning to love and share more and adapting easily to her brother. You are not too old and maybe like me will find motherhood second time around alot more relaxing and more enjoyable with your second as you have been there before. I thought because of my age I would require extra scans and checkups but I was no different to the next 30 odd year old mother, so as long as you had little or no problems with your first it could be unlikely that you will with your second. Follow your heart and create your bigger family unit. Life is too short for regrets and what ifs......I already want a third  I just need to persuade Daddy. Good luck!

I had two kids close together when I was 32 and 33, then 11 years later I had my 3rd at 44. Effectively he will be an 'only child' as the older kids leave home, but I am sure he will be fine.
The main difference between 33 and 44 is that I feel I am a better parent, I am more relaxed about life and more financially secure and although I get some funny looks sometimes it has been lovely to be an older mum! I do get knackered, but I was just as knackered the first time around
Highly recommend it!
