Wandsworth Taxi company bad experience

Hi all just wanted to share a very bad experience we had with Herald cars, Wandsworth common this week.

I booked them to collect my elderly parents from Euston station on Thursday evening. When they were 15 minutes late we called and were lied to saying they were nearby. After 2 further calls when they didn't show up (over 20 mins late) leaving my folks in the cold and rain they claimed to be 'just arriving'. No apology was given for being late and I was told that my watch was wrong and to change it (!?)

Not only this, when I asked if they would be discounting the fare I was rudely told no. On challenging this the call handler then radioed the driver and told him to drop my parents wherever he was! UNBELIEVABLE!!! He then told me I'D wasted HIS time and to never call them to book their cars again!

If I wasn't worried about my folks I may have laughed but I thought I was using a reliable small business here.

Luckily when we quickly called my folks we learned that the driver still hadn't made it so we did what we should have done after the first call and got them safely back in a black cab, if not a bit late.

Please do think about who to use when calling a local cab as Herald are just downright rude.

Unfortunately, this happens all the time :o
That s why when it comes to my parents or my parents in law i only do black cabs or sometimes addison lee. I would never trust anyone else.

Thanks! I booked them an Addison Lee today to get back up to Euston and they arrived 10 mins early and carried their bags at both ends of the journey!

It does make you wonder how companies with such terrible attitudes towards their customers actually manage to stay in business. Thanks for the information.

We have started using Atlas cars recently and they have been very good so far, punctual and reliable and seem to know their way around quite well.

Agree with the previous poster about Atlas, I've been using them for years and they're great. They even hired me one of their fancy mercs for our wedding to ferry our parents around!

Same as mamilou, we have used the same company and it was a disaster. The car was 1 late for picking my parents from the airport and didn't want to give us any discount plus they were very rude. So upset...

I'm lucky enough not have experienced that particular mini cab firm, but I have had just as unreliable experience with others, they all seem to have a knack of lying about their arrival times. Thankfully I have found the freephone number for Clapham Common taxi rank which are all licensed black cabs and I have never been let down, they are always polite and professional and you speak direct to the driver. They will always tell you the truth if they can't meet the time you need, so you are never left waiting around and have to call back again and again. Recommend you give it a try 0800 118 2494
