Newborn passport photos

Postby Suslik » Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:23 pm

Hi all,
what's the best place to get a photo of my newborn done around northcote road? where i used to live in NW london there was a nice photolab where they put babies on a white bean bag, much more civilised than trying to hold the baby upright against a white background while not having your hand in the photo... Any recommendations?

thank you

Hi,

I got my daughter's done at a shop on Northcote Rd, I cannot think of the name of it, which is not very helpful  BUT it is a small shop near to Fat Face, sells a lot of photo frames... Will look at the name tomorrow if I remember.

ANYWAY, they lie the baby on a piece of white paper on the floor, so not ideal, (my daughter was 8 mths at the time), but they got the job done fine...I guess you could take a while/light blanket for the baby to lie on if you are worried about the hard floor. Not the best place I imagine, but was fine, only took a few seconds.

Hope this helps a bit, will try and find out the name!

A x

This may be of no use to you, but we did ours at home ourselves.

Lay our son on a cream (the background is not supposed to be white) duvet cover and stood over him with our digital camera. Meant we could take our time, and he was in familiar surroundings.

Took camera card to snappy snaps who made it into a p/port photo for us.

We went to Snappy Snaps in Southside Centre and it was a pretty painless and easy experience!

I got both my babies photographed at Jessops on St. Johns Road. They have a white bean bag thingy to put them on. Take a muslin as its probably not been washed in a while but they are very patient

Hi,

there is a snappy shots opposite Clapham Junction station. Very expensive though - 4 pictures £8 if I remember correctly. But what can you do!

www.paspic.com is great. I took photos myself, they check them and only approve and proceed to print once fully complient with all the passport photo rules (ie. eyes have to be open etc) and then send to you in the post within a couple of days - and all for under £4 !
