Washing machine and Dishwasher repairs

Postby bettina » Thu Aug 16, 2012 7:24 pm

I've had a small problem in trying to remove the pump cap from my washing machine which failed to twist off completely. Not only could I not remove it, but I couldn't get it securely tightened back because of some obstruction. I wanted to try and clean the filter as my washing had dirty marks and the machine sometimes makes unusual banging noises when spinning, although not often.

After calling a number of plumbers and handymen, most wanted to charge above £80 for a call-out. Siemens were £89 plus VAT and couldn't get to me for 5 days. All I wanted was for someone to remove a pump cap so that I could try and clean the filter and remove the obstruction.

I eventually came across 'Dan', who i found on NappeyValley and who had some great reviews. I have to say that he was fantastic, removed the bikini under-wire, and something else from under the drum I believe, and left the machine in good working order. His costs were very competitive compared to the other people I had called earlier for this small job.

He also repairs dishwashers, and I understand from him today, that he is a qualified electrician too.

His mobile number is 07932 918536. He is local (Tulse Hill I think) and visits on his scooter so parking not a problem for him.

Highly recommended.

I have just used Dan today to repair my dishwasher and install a light. I only called him this morning and he was able to come this afternoon. All the jobs have been completed and for an excellent price in comparison to many other companies. He has a great manner and was even tolerant of my 2 year old who wanted to watch him!

Re: Washing machine repairs recommendation

One very happy customer here :-) Just wanted to recommend a washing machine repair man who has just fixed our ageing washer/dryer. Was expecting him to write it off and was worried he'd do that whatever to have his call-out fee without having to do any work, but not at all. He's called Jack and seems to be a very experienced, old-school repair man. Costs £45 whether he's there 5 minutes or 5 hours. Was with me for around 1 hr, explained what he did and left me with a fully functioning machine. His number is: 07956 598347
