Nurseries for 6+ month old nr Clapham south Post Reply

Hi,

I'm new to this board but have found it incredibly helpful so far!

I'm looking for a day nursery (8-6) for my 6 month old baby near Clapham South tube. I haven't been very lucky so far finding nurseries around the area that take babies that young. I've already reached out to Nightingales Nursery but they have a small baby room so I've been put in the waiting list.

Any advice on good nurseries in the area? I'm looking for a place in May (my baby is not born yet!) but apparently I'm already late in the process

Hi,
I just wondered if you have considered getting a nanny or having a nanny share?
I am a nanny myself, having my own child in February. I am currently planning to return to work with my child but looking into alternatives.
I would like to find someone who is more than happy for me to be with my child but also I'd be able to provide much more flexibility interms of hours or if your child was sick, I could still care for her for example.
I am Norland trained with many years experience.

I am a mother of a 6 month old and also living in Clapham south, i have worked with children all my life and am thinking about caring for another child around the same age as my son.

I would lie my son to go to Nursery when he is about 18month and i would consider the same nursery as the other child i will look after then i can still pick up and drop of both.

Hi,
I'd recommend Elm Park nursery on Clarence Avenue - my daughter has been there for over 2 years (since she was 1) and my son started last October when he was 9 months old. They have recently done a loft conversion so have a lot more space and the garden is huge - unbelievably so, a huge plus point for me when choosing a nursery!
The staff are all very caring and the baby room has a separate room for cots, the food they provided is healthy and varied and I have never had any problems. The admin side can be a bit hit & miss (although much improved recently) but for me, it's the childcare that is what's important.
