Live in Spanish Au Pair required in South West London

Postby Patricia Sanchez » Wed Nov 14, 2012 10:15 am

We require a very responsible, decisive and polite person who clearly loves children to look after our three years old son for a minimum period of one year.

Basically, we require a person to make our lives a lot easier, that is, when my husband and I get home from work we can concentrate on playing with our child and we know that while we are at work our son is in good hands.

In our case our Au pair is responsible for:

• Caring for our son while my husband and I are at work:
• Prepare and provide meals for our son and the evening meal for the family
• Take and collect our son from Montessori school ( from 9.15-12.15 Monday to Friday )
• Give our son a bath after his afternoon snack
• Facilitating activities such as playing, reading, painting, singing, and everything that a three year old does and more because our son is very active.
• Daily housekeeping, vacuum and dusting. Once a week doing general cleaning and laundry as and when required.
• Being available for usually one or two nights a week to baby-sit.

Language in the house: The Au Pair must speak to our son in Spanish whilst they can speak in English and Spanish to us. In regards to English schools, these are several in the area for the Au Pair to attend.

In return, what does the Au Pair receive:

• Full board: accommodation and food (room and bathroom to herself)
• Monthly travel card for the bus valued at £72
• Weekly allowance of £70
• Free use of a gym
• Free use of internet and phone calls to Spanish landlines anytime.
• Free evenings start around 6.30pm when we return from work
• Weekends off except on occasions when baby sitting may be required.

If this seems like an opportunity for you please call me to discuss further as we require a person who fits the above opportunity to start as soon as possible.

Hi,

I've not posted on this site before, so I will abide by the rules re business and introduce myself.

I am owner of http://www.findanaupair.co.uk am a mum of 2 (+ a chocolate labrador), ex au pair myself in Holland and Seattle, host mum to au pairs and run an au pair agency in Purley, Surrey. I place au pairs throughout the UK & Ireland and am a very hands on agent, working with you to find that perfect match.

I also give the girls a contact list of other au pairs already placed in their area or close by and I arrange get togethers as well. You will see on the website that this Saturday, the girls are getting together (inlcuding me!) to go ice skating at Somerset House!

I encourage any family to go through an agency as the agent is there to support you and the au pair throughout their stay.

I work with agents in Europe who interview and screen the au pairs. Do get in touch if you have any questions!

Kind Regards,
Nicole

£70 a week for someone to do absolutely everything for you!? Is this really all au pairs get paid?

Hiya

Au pairs receive pocket money not a wage as it is a live-n position and part of a cultural exchange programme. Depending on hours, from around 20-25, or 30-35, they earn between £70 as a MINIMUM and up to £100 pocket money per week. *NB They do not incur NI or Tax.

Their lodging is provided and this includes food. Au pairs do light household duties but should not be mopping floors and cleaning windows. *Many families have a cleaner in addition to an au pair.

* This is why I encourage families and au pairs to go through an agency, for au pairs : as there is no protection otherwise and that's where you hear about horror stories and for families as partner agents in Europe vet and screen the au pairs and if something should happen that she cannot fulfil her stay, you have the support of the agency and a replacement very soon!

Kind Regards,
Nicole

A French girl has been in touch with my family asking if we can help her improve her English so she can get better jobs at home. As the shoe is now on the other foot and I am considering her for an au pair with me I have considered the issue of pay and value of board and accommodation. I'm sorry I was rude and judgemental to you. I understand better now. I hope you found someone.
