Club Med or Mark Warner - any ideas?

Postby SJH Mummy » Tue Jan 22, 2013 1:00 pm

Hi there,

Thinking of going to a Club Med or Mark Warner this year, out of school holidays, with our 1 1/2 yr old.

Anyone recommend either or both?

What happens at night time, do you have to stay in your room whilst your baby sleeps? Are there suites or 2 bedroom options so we don't have to share with our daughter (but not hugely expensive?)

Do they have kids clubs for this age in the day time, I assume you have to pay at this age too?

Would ideally be within a 3 hour flight so any tips would be brillant.

many thanks

Hi, I am a big club med fan. We have done Tunisia (Hammamet), Italy (Napitia) and Turkey (Palmiye and Beldi) and each time had a brilliant holiday. If you don't speak French, do choose a club that is recommended for UK customers (all of the above do) - that's specified in the brochure.
In the evening, what we tend to do is move the daily routine so that we all have dinner together at 7.30pm. Then when she was very little our daughter would fall asleep in her buggy while we have a night cap at the bar.
The kids clubs are brilliant. We never used baby club (under 2) but Petit Club (2-3) and Mini Club (from 4) have been great. Several of my friends have used baby club and had good feedback.
Do remember to take the red vaccination book with you as they ask for it on your first day.
Have a great holiday!

We used the baby club in Club med in Phuket in September 2011 - excellent and really gave us a proper break as our son, 11 months at the time, was there from about 9.30 ish till 4.30 ish. He seemed to really enjoy it and I would def do it again.

Kids clubs are brilliant as the kids get to do stuff they just wouldn't with the adults and adults get some time out, everyone wins in my opinion, particularly if you don't have armies of nannies and grandparents in your everyday life. I haven't tried any in Europe but plan to do so over the next few years.
