Roller blinds

Postby ordinarygirl09 » Mon Feb 11, 2013 3:03 pm

Can any lovely NVN's recommend a good place to have blackout roller blinds made and fitted?

The mornings are getting that little bit lighter and want to try and keep my daughter in bed as long as possible!!

Great idea but do be careful of the cords

23 children have died from becoming entangled in roller blind cords since 1999.

We have them and they terrify me. We are v careful to hook the cords up high out of reach.

I know, it is a terrifying thought. I think there is a little mechanism that can be fitted to make them safe.

We have got these little plastic clips for our blinds - they attach to the wall or window frame and stop the cords hanging loose:

When we moved we looked into getting fitted blinds and curtains. John Lewis come and measure and fit blinds. We ended up bying blinds from IKEA and fitted them ourselves as it would have taken a while to get blinds cut and fitted and we needed a quick solution.

John Lewis (if you can measure yourself) or Atmosphere, inside the back of Les Sardines on Abbeville Rd (Ann or Jo) are very good.
