Can you suggest a good removals company?

Postby kookiegoddess » Wed Feb 13, 2013 12:46 pm

we are moving into a rental property.

we have some awkward sofas which may need to be dismantled in order to move them out of rooms, and also one very heavy dresser which will need to be moved by 3 people.

Lots of crockery / glassware to be carefully wrapped.

It will be in the Wandsworth area. Thanks!

They were really good. And all our stuff arrived, furniture put together nicely, nothing broken.

Good Luck.

Bushells were great, they had to take our front door off to get our sofa out & then bring it in to our new house via our neighbour's house & garden.

Nothing broken, couldn't fault them & they made our move stress free :)

Handy moves. Cheapest I could find by a considerable margin. I've used them twice and numerous friends have used them too. Can't recommend them enough.

Very professional and amazing value for money. We just completed our second move with them and were again very happy!
Ask for Gabriel, he's great.

For our last proper move we used Cadigan Tate who were ok, they did all the packing for us (highly recommended) but left early lady one saying they had plenty of time on the second day to pack the remainder which they did which was subsequently rushed, some things were very badly packed and damaged and we were an hour late leaving the property.

For a smaller moves whilst having building work done we used Aussie Man and van twice then Kiwi Movers. The first Aussie team were great, the second slow. kiwi movers were awful - amateur, extremely slow and basically just some backpackers looking to earn a few pounds.

I would recommend the packing service, saves hours!

Have used Rumsey and Son twice for quite standard moves. V quick and polite. Definitely use the packing service if at all short on time- they did it about 10x faster than I could!

I used http://www.gentlemanandavan.co.uk to remove and store furniture for a week last year while having floors sanded and they were great; took good care and were able to remove, arrange storage and bring everything back.

You know, every moving company offers packing services, but even so, most would recommend that you pack the valuable china yourself. They offer insurance, but still prefer you to take the responsibility for your most precious items. Don't know why.
