Recommendations for 3 yr old party venues please

Postby emben12 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 7:36 pm

Hi
I am looking for a venue somewhere in the Clapham/Wandsworth area to hold a birthday party for approx 15-20 three year olds. Preferably with some kind of entertainment/soft play options.
The only place I've come across so far is The Little Gym in Smugglers way. Does anyone have any experience of hosting a party there?
Or any other venues you could recommend please?
Thanks very much.

have a look at the Adventure Zone at the Wandle Centre, indoor soft play frame, bring your own food and drink. Not too expensive and can take up to 30 kids

Hi, we had our sons third b'day party at The Sports Hall at The Wandle Centre next to Southside shopping centre. It's a big hall with all the soft play stuff aswell as a big bouncy castle and is so affordable compared to other places (about £170 I think). They lay out tables and benches for eating and theres loads of extra space for the kids to run around, kick a ball etc. It's also got a barrier down the length of the room so no children can get out. The only problem I found is that you only get it for 2 hours so with 15 mins either side for setting up/clearing up it only leaves 1.5 hrs for the party but I think the benefits of the place make up for that. Oh and you can decorate it, play your own music, take your own food etc. The kids absolutely loved it! Lots of parents said to me afterwards that it was the best party venue they'd been to.

We looked at the Adventure Zone originally as its a great little area too but the problem we had is you can't fit that many adults in there and we knew all parents would stay the entire time.

Thank you - I'll look into those. Good to compare lots of different types of venues.

I'd also be keen to hear about any venues that come ready prepared with food provided etc.

Thanks

It's a kids thing in earls field are brilliant. Quite expensive for an 'exclusive' party where u get the whole place to yourself but you can also pay per child (17.50) if you have fewer children. If you can do it on a week day in term time then they only charge £350 for exclusive use for 25 (or 30 - cant remember).

My girls had their 3rd birthday there and loved it ( we took a table of 10 or so and so didn't have exclusive use - it was fine). The kids get to run around the soft play for 45 mins, have a party tea and then have a disco and games led by a staff member. The guy who did ours was great fun and the kids loved him! I've done parties in the past where I've hired a hall and done all the food myself bad I actually think in the end whilst it was cheaper the extra hassle wasn't worth the amount of money I saved...

Good luck with it!

Twiceasnice - thanks for your recommendation. I agree that for me the fairly small saving isn't worth it. I will check them out.

Will check out Eatplaylove too.

Thank you.

We just started hosting kids birthday parties in a lovely new nursery close to Clapham Junction station. It is a beautiful space which can accommodate up to 30 children. Do send me an email if you are interested: info@blossomkidz.com
