Looking for a holiday let recommendation

Postby gingerem » Sat Mar 09, 2013 12:09 pm

We're looking for a holiday let 3-4hrs drive from London, to sleep 2 couples and 3 children (3yo and two 1 yo) for mid-June. Nothing too urban but otherwise we're very open to ideas. Before I trawl the Internet I was wondering if anyone had any tried-and-tested recommendations? Thanks in advance.

We went to Gladwins Farm nr Nayland in Suffolk last September (found it via Baby Friendly boltholes, which you might want to look at). They've got a cluster of farm cottages (sleeping different numbers), outdoor playground area, ride-on toys etc, animals to feed, indoor pool, freezer with baby meals, and Cook meals for you. We absolutely loved it - the owners are very friendly and understanding (small children of their own!) and there is LOADS to see and do within driving distance.

We have a holiday home in a modern eco-development just opposite the beach in Camber, East Sussex. It's set up for families with small children, with stairgates, high chair, travel cot, buggy etc. If you want to take a look at some images of it, go to www.bramleyandteal.co.uk and then click on Kent, then Camber Sands. Our place is called Tides; it has a double en-suite bedroom, a twin room and a double sofabed in the downstairs games room.
If you're interested, you can then post a message on this forum....

Hi - I'm a local mother and we have a holiday let at Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswold Water Park which would be perfect for your group - it's ideal for 2 families holidaying together and is just over 2 hrs from this part of London. A number of other local families have used it and have always had a great time, I can give you references. You can take a look at www.hoopoecottage.co.uk or see our ad on www.homeaway.co.uk, we are number 406994.

Thanks for the tips. Janburt, your place looks gorgeous and I love Rye but I think we need at least 3 bedrooms. Balhamwilbur, funnily enough we've already stayed at Cotsworlds Water Park. It is ideal for families but we're looking to go somewhere new. Verring towards the Isle of Wight at the morment.

Hi please look at our cottage in Dorset. It had 5 bedrooms and is very kid friendly. It's really near to burton bradstock and a 5 min drive to the beach. If you go to cottages4u website and search under property reference 28077 you should see it. I hope that helps!
