Kids cafe in Hampton hill-disappointing

Postby Larapru » Fri Apr 05, 2013 12:15 pm

I went to the kids cafe in Hampton hill recently with my twin boys and my sister and her baby and was very disappointed. There was no energy, it was quiet, no friendly mum jumped up to help us in, no information about what the deal was. Also the tired looking girl looking after the toddlers didn't bother to get up to ask us if we wanted to join in and tell us how it worked. We turned around and left. Is the one in Teddington better? Teeny weenies I think it is called.

Yes I have been a couple of times and found the service quite lack lustre. However, the lady who looks after the kids did make an effort to get the paints out, put the train track out etc.

Teeny weenies is good for younger ones in my opinion (1-2 year olds), but quite small so can get v busy. My older lo is 3 and loves the ymca pod in Kingston, my younger lo at 1 also enjoys the bit for younger children, this is our current favourite place to go :).

I find Teeney Weenies can get very busy, but it's great for a couple of hours... totally exhausts my 18month yr old, lovely coffee and snacks too... the lady who runs it is always very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Recently Singing Hands were there doing a free taster class, which was a nice little bonus.

I've never been to the Pod, but heard fab things. I took my little one to The Lollipop Club for the first time last week and it was excellent. Based in Richmond, in the ground of London Welsh Rugby Club,(http://www.lollipopclub.co.uk) - they have a large bouncy castle and loads of Little Tikes toys.. worth also checking it out - it's open everyday, all day!
