I've been round to look at new land house and was very impressed with the facilities and the kids, so polite. I've registered my boys there to start when they are four. I have seen the outside parts of twickerham prep, when I bought a Christmas tree from there and it was very nice, just smaller. don't knw if that helps.

I think the schools are pretty similar to be honest. I think it's a question of how far you want to drive and walk at the end of the day.

Re Nursery school - if you're going to live in Hampton Wick go and have a look at the Pavilion on Broom Road recreation ground. It's a fantastic montessori school - the only officially accredited one by Montessori in the area. And It's wonderful - the nicest staff. I can't fault it - my third child went there. My others didn't but I wish they had. It's very very popular but worth going on the waiting list. We did and got a place :) Happy Days.

Their kids go into many local schools - Collis, Hampton Wick, Newland House mainly.

Good luck. If you need any more info please ask

Thanks, we are also on the waiting list for the Pavillion, I am trying to arrange a visit to Childrens house, but no luck as yet as I think we need a backup in case we don't get a place! Also he wouldn't start until next April and then for only 2 hours in the afternoon, not sure if that would work, I ideally want him to go somewhere in the mornings. Decisions!

We also have our daughter down on Playwam's waiting list. Another excellent pre-school in Teddington on Langham Road. Worth checking out also as a 'back up!'

Thanks, I rang em but was told he couldn't start at Playwam til a year In September, which seems a very long way away! Pavillion is super handy as our new house is on Glamorgan road, so is a stones throw away, but we won't find out if we get in for a while! When would your daughter start? Did the grass practice help?!

I looked at both as I have a boy and a girl and much preferred newland. Thought they had much better facilities , kids seemed more confident and was just generally more impressed with the look and feel of the school. My son starts in 2014 and I can't wait!!

Totally agree re your comments on Newland House School.

VicksB - our timings sound similar to you - she'd be starting Playwam Sept 2014 or Pavillion a term earlier if poss. How's all the research going? Do you feel like you have your ducks lined up now??

Thanks everyone.

Highchair hostess, I think we are hoping for the Pavillion, I registered him last Autumn, but not sure if this was early enough! The afternoon sessions aren't ideal but it seems to be well worth it, and it is v close to our new house so makes sense from that angle too. We are moving from Fulham so will be nice to make some local friends!

Newland house sounds perfect, but I am going to look round both schools in the next fortnight, and also the Mall. We will send him to board at when he is older and more children seem to board from NH and the Mall than from TP. It is all a minefield and who knows what will suit them when they are at school age! Fingers crossed we make the right decisions!

Glad your little girl's heart murmur isn't too bad, and I hope she is now an old hand at grass!

I went to the mall school for a Christmas Market and wasn't very impressed. Small and knackered old games hall.
