Looking for midwife or obgyn recommendations for twins

Postby Viv24 » Tue Apr 23, 2013 12:16 pm

Hello,

I will be moving to London from New York shortly and we will be living on the clapham common/wandsworth/balham area.

I'm 5 months pregnant with twins and am looking for an obgyn or midwife with access to Chelsea Westminster hospital. I would prefer a vaginal birth if possible and would like a care team who is supportive and open to this.

Any recommendations are much appreciated!!

Thank you.

Have you joined the Wandsworth Twins Club yet?
That would be the best place to get any twin specific info.

Hi Katherine,

Thank you so much for this referral. I just arrived in the UK and joined the twins club just last week!

Are you going private? If so and you can choose your consultant I highly recommend Nick Wales at C&W in the Kensington Wing. He delivered our son in January and we thought he was excellent. Not a twins specialist, but I'm confident he has experience with twins and almost every other type of pregnancy. Great bedside manner.

Hi,

We are independent midwives and had just recently a client with twins. She beautifully gave birth (spontaneously) in a hospital. We carried out her antenatal care, were with her during labour and birth and were looking after her for 4 weeks postnatally. Feel free to pm me or give me a call 07454 917 537.

Kind regards, Anna

Hi
Neighbourhood Midwives, an independent midwifery team with a strong, have got lots of experience of working with women with twins. As with Anna on the post above, we'd provide all your antenatal care, be with you in the hospital for your birth, and we provide 6 weeks postnatal care - which is so important for all mums but especially twins
we work in the clapham area and have good links with the local hospitals, and
we offer free consultations. if you call 0208 874 6624 this can be arranged
very best luck with it all
Julie

Hi

Congratulations! Hope you are settling into the uk ok!

I didn't use them myself but have met the lovely people at neighbourhood midwives and would recommend their services, lovely ladies and what they provide sounds amazing. As they say, postnatal support after twins is probably the most important thing.
