Artificial Grass on top of patio

Postby livegreen » Tue Jun 11, 2013 3:56 pm

We have a small shady patio to side and back of gardens which is currently a mix large paving stones, its flat and drains well. Its around 40 sq meters.
Has anyone had theirs overlain with artificial grass ?
How long did it take ? Is £35 per metre about right ? Any recomendations?

Hi. I had a quote from Grassify who charged about that (depending on quality of the grass) plus additional for installation etc. The area we wanted to cover was about 30sqm and came in at around £1000. their costs are on their site. They reckoned they could lay it in a day.

We decided in the end not to do it as we had concerns around drainage etc but get them to come and have a look, they wil bring samples etc so you can get a sense... or you can buy astroturf from b&Q for 60 quid and just see if you like it?!!

Hope this helps
Good luck!

I used a company called Nomow to do this for me about 3 years ago now. Been very pleased (but wd strongly recommend going for one of their more expensive ranges to get a natural effect)

I have laid artificial grass on a balcony and it looks really wonderful. I'm amazed by the transformation!

I used a company called Namgrass off the internet and got some swatches first from a few companies. You want to choose a shade of green that you like and the right amount of "dead grass" in it to make it look a bit more authentic.

It took me time to choose and think it would be ok and I really am pleased.

We had ours done last year and it is brilliant and looks great.

Agree go for expensive range for look and quality. We had to lift pour existing patio to allow for drainage and fit. But we took our advise from the garden builders as we were refurbishing the whole garden.
