Dilemma of which school nursery to accept?? Post Reply

My daughter has been offered P/T nursery to start at MaCaulay C of E and Clapham Manor in September, both schools stress the point that you don't get an automatic entrance to reception, but the main purpose is to get a Reception place so not sure which one to choose,

In the case of Clapham Manor I am out of the catchment area for a reception place based on this year's longest distance offered, but would like to increase my chance of getting in.

would appreciate any views especially if you have or know anyone attending either school.

Hi - I can't help you with views on either of the schools, but just to clarify that i don't think it will influence your chances of getting a reception place at either. Lambeth admissions process does not give any priority to children who attended nursery at a particular school.
So, I would go with the one you like the most.

Things could have changed, but a friend of mine got priority into Reception at MaCaulay C of E because her child went to nursery there... This was a few years ago, so I am not sure if they operate the same way. Worth asking some reception parents though.

My daughter is at Mac and there used to be priority for nursery children into reception but not any more. So go with the nursery you like best and perhaps the one where you might get into reception? We've been really happy with Mac but I also know people who are really happy at Clapham Manor! My son starts Mac nursery in Sept so we might see you there.
