I am just wondered what people are paying for babysitting

How much do you think it is fair to pay for a nanny/babysitter who has NVQ 2 in Childcare and nursery experience if I need her help to look after my 2 children (3 and 8 months) for one day only from 8 to 5?
She will have to take and collect the older from nursery, feed, change, entertain both and etc. She was very well recomended by a friend who knows her from the nursery her son attends...Should I pay per hour, per day...I havent ask how much she would charge I just want to know what people are paying... :?:

Hi,

Not sure if this will be of any help, but just to give you an idea a friend of mine pays her nanny (similar qualifications to yours) a gross monthly salary of £1500 per month. I think that works out (roughly) at £70 gross per day.

The baby-sitter I use occasionally in the evening (she is a qualified nursery nurse) charges £8 ph for one child and £10ph for two children.

Cheers,

S

Hello

The nursery nurses where i work (and myself) charge between £8- £10 for evening and day sitting. I think this is a fair sum.
