Agree with everything said above about Melissa, she is Amazing! I've had 3 fantastic hair cuts and she has tamed my 3 year olds mad curls. My daughter loved her and keeps asking when she can have her hair cut again by the lady with the red hair!

Tomas Bak on East Hill is brilliant. I used to go to an expensive salon in Mayfair but post-baby I needed somewhere local and he turned out to be better and much cheaper!!! He uses la biosthetique products which I am a huge fan of esp as the colour seems to be so much more natural. Can't recommend him highly enough.

I used to go to Luca at Camerina but Amber at Jo Partridge is much better colourist and cutter.

I had my highlights done at Smiths Salon on Battersea Rise this afternoon and am extremely happy with the service!

I'm pregnant in my first trimester so it was important for me to find a salon with good ventilation. Smiths Salon has FANTASTIC ventilation and did not reek of chemicals like some other salons in the area. Andrew, my hair stylist, completely understood my pregnancy concerns and touched up the roots in a way that minimised my exposure to product. I think he also used a non-bleaching lightening agent, which is more safe.

The salon has a calm and sophisticated feel about it. It is airy with soft lighting and does not have loud music (yes I must be getting old!). The staff were friendly and have that style about them that gives you comfort that they have good judgment in handling your hair (not too hipsterish but also not sporting dated hairstyles/clothes which can make me a bit nervous!).

I received a 30% discount for being a first time customer and I'll happily return to the salon again.

I went to Mellissa on Friday after reading about her on Nappy Valley and was so happy. She is lovely and very quick and did such a good job. Only £50 for cut, blowdry and half a head of highlights which is a total bargain! Will definitely be going to her again.

I got Melissa round to do my highlights a couple of weeks ago, and could not be happier with her. She was on time, did a great job of my hair and was lovely company. She was also great with my 5 month old baby. Would definitely recommend and will be using again myself.

Mellissa, She did it again for me, the forth time am so happy with the wonderful hair cut and colour. I contacted her the first time after reading the positive recommendations here. I could only tell her that I wish to look more energetic and fresher because I am so tired all the time coping with a new born together with a demanding 4 year old. She gave me a total change over on my look! Made me ten years younger! No kidding. All my family and friends went Wow. Then the next time, I told her that I wish to be looked different again, she made it for me again. Every time I just need to tel her how I wish my look to be, (I like to have a fresh look each time, not the same style she always surprises me. And she is very fast. She even helped me to watch my cooking while I went upstairs to wash my hair . So I felt so efficient got my kids healthy cooking done while having my hair sorted at the same time. I had never been so happy with any of my hair cut before until I tried Mellissa. And she is so pleasant company to chat to. After four times happy experience with her, I am her loyal customer now. Looking forward to seeing her again in a couple of more months time.
