what do we want on Abbeville Road?

Postby sparkletiger » Wed Sep 11, 2013 7:21 pm

very excited to see Ginger Pig butcher about to open on Abbeville Road. quite a few shops look like they are coming and it made me wonder what others want on this lovely street... like the ongoing Northcote post... so we have the lovely McFarlanes, Abbeville Kitchen (mmmm) and it's cafe further along... what else do we need?

Would love a:
sushi place...
Cash machine that doesn't charge for taking out cash...
and a bookshop.

I would like a chemist although the area is pretty well served now. Shame we are getting another estate agent! Does anyone know why Le Chardon changed so quickly?

Luckily le coq hardi has a new and lovely, clean owner.

What about Organic children clothes and accessories and some for their mummies ? Would appreciate any advice where I can sell it?
Do you know any nice market except Northcote as they have waiting list (very long one). Thank you :)

A post office (!!!!!), a free cash point and a chemist. Then we would never need to go anywhere else!

Personally I would also get rid of Sainsburys due the increased (and sheer size) traffic along the road.

I'm not sure we can sustain 3 hairdressers and 2 dry cleaning shops - although I do prefer the new dry cleaners to the old one.

sigh ! I am totally jealous... Northcote now is just crawling with Real estate agents, totally spoils the feel of the place - it used to be so lovely to hang out there.
Abbeville road is the nicer one I think .... just unfortuantely a little further for us, and walking is a bit of a challenge, driving is ok but trying to be green!

A decent sized cafe (that isn't Starbucks). Macfarlanes has a sum total of 3 tables and the (lovely) cafe at the other end of the road has only a few more.

A pharmacy would be great too.

We have had a lovely little store that sold clothes etc for children and mummys, but that went a few years ago.

Totally agree about another estate agent and also a bookstore - how about a bookstore with a cafe in?

It is looking fab their now. Chemist and cash machine would be good. More kid friendly restaurants, a gourmet burger and a children's clothes shop. ..Jo Jo maman. The new baby shop is amazing but shockingly expensive. A few more bars would be great too.

I have been to the new baby store, Piccoli & Co I think is the name. I agree it is amazing but don't feel its overpriced for the quality and the furniture is so special, I have never seen anything like it before. How lucky are we to have something other than the usually high street baby stores and on our doorstep.... would also love a chemist to open or a little Waitrose!!

I know it is quite an old post but I think it is quite relevant to post my survey here !

After 10 years being a community pharmacist in London, I am now ready to start a new adventure !
If everything goes well, I will soon be ready to open my dream shop on Abbeville road.
A 'Parapharmacie' will be the closest word but let's say it is a treatments, healthcare and beauty concept store.
I need your help to spread the world-of-mouth and that will be a great start to answer this very quick survey and transfer it to as many friends, neighbours and relatives around Abbeville village as you can !
That will help me tailor your needs and wishes for this shop.
Many thanks and keep an eye for the future updates !

It takes only 5 minutes :
