Beautiful Swiss chalet to buy/let

Postby catief » Tue Aug 24, 2010 7:11 pm

Hello

We moved to Switzerland in January and are loving it so much that we have decided to stay for the foreseeable future. We have been renting the most beautiful chalet but have decided to buy and finally bring all our stuff over from London!!

We are very excited but we have a 4 month notice period, meaning we will get the keys on 20th Dec (yuck) unless we find someone to either rent this chalet for the winter or buy it, in which case we could go earlier as there is no chain.

The chalet is in the valley below Verbier, about a 10 minute walk from the lifts straight up to resort and beyond onto the piste. Verbier is one of the most exclusive resorts in Europe and as such can be wildly expensive to live in. Le Chable, the village where are, is a lovely spot with lots of ex-pat mums and toddlers/babies, a fantastic nursery (from 18months on) and a great local community. The views and the situation are fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a change of scene. We are 45 minutes from Chamonix and an hour from Italy. It's an hour to Lausanne and 1.5hrs to Geneva airport.

The chalet has 5 bedrooms; 3 upstairs and two on the bottom floor (one of which my husband uses as his office as it has all the necessary connection points). The ground floor is a lovely, sunny open plan kitchen/living room. There are two bathrooms, a laundry room and a one car garage. The garden is about a third of an acre and beautiful. There is a "Pirate's House" (what we call the great wooden kids' play house) and the situation is second to none - in the middle of open meadows. It's quiet and peaceful and in the winter you can ski right to the door (quite literally, over the flower beds and on to the deck!!) from the little resort above us.

I have posted the estate agent's website and would happily give you our landlady's details if you'd like more information. I must tell you it is for sale but I know she is keen to have people in over the winter anyway, so would consider a seasonal let (usually from 1st Dec to end Apr).
