I thought that it couldn't be just anybody? That it has to be someone who had known you for a certain amount of time?

For the irish it has to be a priest or a solicitor or principal/vice principal if a school. Cant do the school as it is half term now, priest is out of question as we are not church goers, which leave to finding a solicitor. They would usually do it for £10-20 but the one we used before has mived. It could be sn accountant too actually.

just to add, it has to be someone who has known you for two years, someonw who knows your daughter is yours etc.

I hope you find someone, a director of a VAT limited company is often easy?

For the irish embassy it is ONLY the professions i have mentionned. Also i know about tge 2 yrs but our dolicitor has moved. We are not applying for a first passport but are renewing it. I have all birth certs and all proof she is my and my husband daughter. I need a favour as i need to fast track it today.

Please just let me know if you know someone or if you are willibg to do it. You can PM if course. Please i appreciate if you dont tell me the rules i know them and i have the application form in front if my eyes.

Pp/supergirl - I don't mean to be unhelpful, but I very much doubt there will be a solicitor willing to do this as it is technically fraud and they could be struck off for it. I see time is tight, so perhaps worth speaking to the embassy and seeing if there are any other options (perhaps your previous solicitor could email/fax a confirmation to them with the original documents they need to follow?). Hope you get it sorted!

Perhaps things have changed in the past 12 months, but for my childrens Irish passport I've always used the 'bank official/manager' option. Both times we've asked a collegue of my husband who works at an Investment Bank to sign off and included a business card. They have contacted both people who witnessed our passports to verify they knew us - but seemed to accept them as Bank Officials. NappyValley is overrun with people who work in the city. Do you know anyone?
