Looking for cranial osteopath for baby

Postby CGlass » Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:48 pm

Any recommendations?!
And/or miraculous stories of your baby suddenly sleeping through the night after sessions with a CO?!
Has been 8 months of constant waking and I am desperate!!!
Am huge sceptic but willing to try anything with an open mind at this point and cranial osteopathy been recommended by a doctor friend...

Clapham Osteopathic Practice - John Carr or Maria Sonberg. Both excellent and I take dozens of my babies there. However, osteopathy alone will not get your baby to sleep through the night! It might help if there is an underlying problem that is causing your little one to wake but, whilst it is very effective in releasing tensions in the body and allowing it to heal itself more efficiently, unless there is a problem it will not prove to me a miracle cure. For example, I have taken babies who suffer with colicky windy pain, reflux and who have had a rude arrival via C-section or venteuse/forceps with fantastic results. I too was a sceptic and now am a regular client (as is my husband) at John & Maria's clinc.

Hi CGlass, give The Children's Osteopath Clinic in Wandsworth a call - we went there with our baby girl for 6 sessions - following reflux and lactose intolerance - and also a problem with her not being able to switch off to go to sleep - they diagnosed a problem with the right side of her neck, it was tight and she never looked or turned her head that way - apparently its the nerve that helps our bodies switch off and get ready for sleep - but she couldn't do it because of the tightness.
After only 2 sessions there were huge improvements in her neck mobility and after 3 weeks she began to sleep in the daytime (before she would go 9hours without sleep at 6weeks old!!??!)
They are a charity so you just pay what you can afford per session (they recommended £35 a session)
Here is the website - http://occ.uk.com/
they are just off putney bridge road in Wandsworth
Hope it can help x

Thank you!!
Will give both places a call and see what I can arrange...
Not really hoping for a miracle cute but at this point I will try anything... Even if it relaxes her enough to get one night of better sleep!!!!
