Teenager desperately seeking employment

Postby Lalalucy » Wed Feb 06, 2019 9:43 am

Please can you help?

My 17 year old son left college at the end of last year - he wasn't expelled or excluded - and is now struggling to find any form of employment, I think partly due to his age and obvious lack of experience.

Trying not to be bias, he is a friendly, good mannered, polite and articulate young man.  He is really keen to work and learn.

If you need someone to help you out on either a regular basis, occasional or as a one off, I know he would consider trying anything.  Amongst other things, he would be willing to help with:

Dog walking
Looking after a dog - home or away -  if you need to work or be away for a period of time
House sitting - feeding animals and watering plants
Looking after older children - playing games, football and helping with homework - he passed all of his GCSE's
Leaflet distribution
Learning a new skill or trade

We live in SW11.  If you have anything you need help with, it would be really appreciated if you would consider my son.

My telephone number is 0781 480 4043 and email address is lucylou102@gmail.com.

Thank you

Lucy, try hitting up cooling/air-conditioning markets. They are overloaded with work, in desperate need of more time in the day and hands to work. Check locally Lucy and there is a huge chance you will find a place that would accept your son as an apprentice or even as a helper. I wish you the best of luck!

Hi Lucy,

I completely understand the frustration your son is experiencing. consider encouraging your son to explore freelancing or online work. Platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and even local community job boards can offer opportunities for tasks ranging from graphic design to writing and social media management.

These gigs can help him build experience, earn some money, and develop skills that are valuable in today's job market.
