Hi Hannah

We provide Will writing as part of our Wealth Planning service or as a stand alone service. I'll send you a PM with some more information.

Best regards

Richard

We used co-op wills, everything was done over the phone. It was friendly, very reasonably priced and knowledgable. They also store it for you indefinitely for free. There was a discount on money supermarket! I have a limited company so thought this was non standard but it was a no brainer for them.

Also you could consider charity free will writing service - Amnesty International is offering one at the moment, you are encouraged to make a donation to charity in your will.

It depends on the level of will that you need.
A more complex will cannot be done over the phone as the solicitor needs to meet with you and confirm that you are in mentally able to make decisions.

These days many people will make a basic will (which is made public on death) and list everything they wish to leave in a ‘Letter of Wishes’ which remains private.
You may also consider having a LPA for each person and this needs to be applied for to the courts - it sounds complicated but it’s not - just time consuming.
If you don’t have any luck finding a local solicitor there are lots available to do all of the above on people per hour.
Best of luck

Hi
I run a legal practice and live locally. I saw this string of messages. We provide Will writing and LPA services. Happy to discuss with you if you want to get in touch. david.gordon@dg-law.co.uk   www.dg-law.co.uk

I thoroughly recommend taking part in a charity's will-writing fortnight - we did it and it's a wonderful feeling to be making a donation to a worthy cause whilst getting the rather tedious but necessary task of writing or altering your will done, thanks to the solicitors doing the work pro bono!  I think our wonderful local hospice, Royal Trinity Hospice on Clapham Common, runs one

I work with a specialist will writing firm that does a free review of existing wills and recommend changes - whether you can update the will or better off starting again, for example. They are also STEP qualified (https://www.step.org/for-the-public). As they are based in York, this keeps the cost down. I'm a qualified financial planner and would meet you first to answer questions you have etc. before handing over to them. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to find out more information.

For anyone with a new will who wants to meet face-to-face throughout the will writing process then I'd recommend Anna Lochhead at Jamieson Alexander. She's a lovely person and experienced in this area. Her direct line is 0330 0947 390.
