"Wasteland" at the end of Danvers avenue (opposite the St. John's Hill exit from Clapham Junction)?

Hi all,
I don't know if you ever walk to Clapham Junction from Plough Road side, and if you do, if you go between the buildings on Danvers Avenue. If you do, you would pass through a fenced off "building site". This has been there for a few years, and is a big wasteland at the moment, with 2 meter tall weeds growing on it. Nothing seems to be happening with it - judging by what I hear about developers on the news, they are probably finding that the market isn't there for flat sales at the moment, hence are not in a hurry to develop it.

It's a real eye-sore and I wouldn't feel comfortable walking through it at night (there is a fence around it and a walkway you can get to the station, but given the increasingly "wild" feel of the place, it's far from inviting).

Does anyone know what the plans for this are, and is there anything we can do to raise this with the council for the developer to address?

Many thanks,
M

Suggest you contact Peabody Trust, a Housing Association (https://www.peabody.org.uk) who demolished the property that was on that land with the intention of building a new block/s .  As to why they have not carried through with that, cannot say but maybe Wandsworth Council Planning Department know more.

We live on the new Peabody estate. That wasteland area is the site for phase three of building works - I believe they had to go back to the drawing board and make the new build cheaper as demand isn’t as high/our flats didn’t sell as quickly as they’d expected(?). We got a letter saying they were starting phase three this year, but nothing concrete.
