Loads of things to do! I grew up in St Ives, so may be a bit biased...but, the beaches are clean and safe in the town, Porthmeor is the surfing beach, but Porthminster is calmer and good for kids. Crabbing onthe harbour, sandcastle building, walk up to the top of the island and check out the tiny chapel. There's the Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum, (which my 4 year old loves!) and plenty of shops and restaurants for mum and dad.
Depends what you're all into, there are lots of interesting places to walk nearby, as well as checking out Lands End - if only to have your photo taken by the sign!
The Minack theatre, on the cliffs is beautiful, they have matinees and evening performances, and usually have something for kids over the summer, its lovely just to go and see it, and then go down to Porthcurno Beach and swim in the turquoise sea!
St Michael's Mount is fab, if you time the tide right you can walk across the causeway and get the boat back or vice versa, it's a bit of a steep climb to the top in places, but worth it whe you get there.
also, try the Eden Project on the way home... Really interesting - you could spend the whole day.
There are so many places, i could bore on for hours! If you want some more info, or let me know where you're staying I can give you come more tips!
Have an amazing holiday!
