New mum to the Tooting area

Postby carriekllo » Tue Jun 22, 2021 9:39 pm

Hi all,
We just exchanged on a house near Tooting Station and will be moving over from Greenwich next month with our LO who just turned 7 months. Can anyone recommend any local baby play groups or meet ups??
Really wanting to meet fellow mums in the area but there just don't seem to be that many on Peanuts (compared to Greenwich).
I feel like the kid that got transferred from high school and having to make new friends again 😭😭

Hello,

Welcome to Tooting. It is a great place to live with lots of local families.

We also live near the overground with our nearly 10 month son and would be happy to meet up with you and take a walk round Figges Marsh.

We don't do loads of baby groups but there are loads out there. We do Join in and Jiggle on a Wednesday not far from the overground.

Drop me a message if you are interested and again welcome.

Hello,

I'm on the other side of Tooting near Balham and my children are way past the baby/ toddler stage but I believe there is a lot on near you and surrounding areas - play groups, baby swim, music classes, exercise classes for mums. I really recommend joining the Tooting Parents Network ( a huge Facebook Group) and I have no doubt you will have lots of friendky people offering to meet up / show you the ropes. Furzedwon is near you as well which is full of families. In many ways this is the best time to move as so many opportunities to make friends with a baby or small child.

Best wishes and good luck with the house move!

I live on the opposite side of Tooting, in Balham, and my children are no longer babies or toddlers, but I believe there is a lot going on in your neighborhood - playgroups, baby swim, music lessons, and exercise programs for mothers.
Best wishes and best of luck with the relocation!
