Postby 2018 » Mon Jul 11, 2022 10:44 pm

Hi. Has anyone got good ideas for a short notice party ideas for two boy / girl 9 year olds. Not envisaging a big group but I’d like to hear if anyone has any good ideas please? Or recommendations for a decent gaming bus or something that can be done from home. Thank you.

My son turned 10 recently and we had his party at the Four Thieves. Not ordinarily associated with kids, but on a Sunday at noon, their arcade floor was completely empty and the kids had a great time. It was actually pretty inexpensive as far as parties go - we allowed each child £20 to spend and didn’t get close to that - we skipped the VR as it gets complicated, but otherwise they did everything, it’s out of the heat, you don’t have to book, the food was surprisingly good and it was different. We were advised against the Saturday due to them running a bottomless brunch promotion and they said it wasn’t a great time for kids to be there. You can just pop in and have a look, which is what we did one Sunday beforehand, and both my kids (7 and 9 at the time) loved it. We only had ten kids there, but the floor is big so you could easily accommodate more. Good luck!

There’s a lot to choose from. You could do a go ape party at battersea park, a water obstacle pool party at tooting leisure centre, there is a sensory escape room in Vauxhall which is quite fun for their age. My daughter recently went to a recording party where a group of friends recorded a song together. There are some pretty cool companies that offer parties too- an aerial acrobatics company in Wimbledon, cheerleading parties at la retraite, even sharky and George can adapt their offering to 9/10 year olds. Or you could do a bowling party, a karaoke party, take a few of them to watch a show. The exhibit in balham does cinema parties or you can rent out a whole screen at some of the cineworlds. I’m sure there are more things but a quick list for now- hope it helps!
