Good colour for exterior of a terraced house?

Postby deckchair » Fri Jul 29, 2022 11:45 am

Having had some fab advice of best brand of paint I am hoping someone could advise on a good colour? My husband wants to go all Nottinghill and paint the whole place pink or sky blue - I am more conservative but would like to do something apart from off-white. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Bone China Blue by little Greene is lovely - blue but with a grey-ish base so not too bright. A sage green could be nice too!

It depends on the terrace.  I would hate the exterior of my house to be painted.  In my terrace one of the houses was painted pink - all the other houses are the original brick.  Fortunately, new owners have had the paint stripped and the brick work exposed.  The merit of a terrace is its overall uniformity.

In one of latest project, we have painted a beautiful Victorian terraced house to ‘Joa’s White’ from Farrow and Ball and it looked so pretty.. I love to use any kind of beige - white ; all kind of neutral color schemes 😇 What do you think about the color of the door?
Please do ping me for any kind of color suggestion, I’m happy to help!

I agree with wasateacher - the whole point of a terrace is uniformity.. and after a couple of years nothing looks worse than dusty painted brickwork + the bricks can't breathe underneath exterior paint

Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone appears as a nice light grey.

I think the bright and pastel colours look the best when all the houses partake like in Camden and Notting Hill. Maybe you can start a trend? 🙂 Otherwise sticking to colours like purbeck stone are a good look. I like brickwork more though but sadly don't have that ourselves.
