Recommendations needed for windows/bifold doors

Postby Orchardend » Tue Jan 03, 2023 10:28 am

We need to replace ancient, draughty rooflights and French windows with new, energy efficient and stylish ones (not upvc), with either bi-fold or sliding doors to replace the French windows.  Can anyone recommend suppliers and/or fitters for these please?  Local would be great but not essential.  Thanks in advance...

We had some oversize doors installed by I D Systems some 15 years ago and they have been brilliant.  They are certainly not cheap, but the quality is top notch and more importantly the service we have had from them has been superb.  We had them taken out and put back in when we did a basement, and recently they told me how to lubricate them to free up one of the locks, when they could have just as easily charged me hunderds for a call-out.  Overall I would say that they are superb.

I would really advise against bi-fold doors. They’re just a pain and don’t look that great. Sliding ones are so much better.
