London-based arts and crafts re-use charity Work and Play Scrapstore (WaPS) has come to the rescue with craft boxes to occupy children during the upcoming Easter holidays.
Each craft box contains the raw materials to make three beautiful felt birds to hang up together with clear instructions to follow.
“It can be difficult to find creative activities for children to do so we’ve come up with the perfect solution, all contained in a box and posted through your letterbox,” says Jen Dolan, Scrapstore’s Operations Manager. “We hope that it will inspire children to spend more time crafting.”
Each box costs £10 including postage and is available from Scrapstore when you email us* to obtain our BACS details for payment. Alternatively, as a non-member, you can purchase a craft box from the store, at 13 Blackshaw Road, Tooting SW17 0DA. We are open Tuesdays and Thursday 11am-5pm.
All the materials have been upcycled, helping Scrapstore beat last year’s achievement of over 50 tonnes of waste materials diverted from landfill and incineration.
Each box contains different coloured felt, buttons, bells, tape, thread and the stuffing. The craft boxes have been designed by Scrapstore volunteer Jane Bull, award-winning author of craft books published by Dorling Kindersley.
