Gazundering coming back?

Postby HousePrice » Sat Jul 15, 2023 4:11 pm

Thank you for letting me join.

We're about to start preparations to sell in this area and talking to a friend from Hampshire, who was also selling, she was gazundered a day before exchange.

It was a significant price cut, around 6%.

Her agent in Hampshire told her this was happening on a reasonably regular basis there, I wondered if anyone had had it happen to them or had heard of it happening here?

I know it'll all be anecdotal but I would be interested to find out.

Thank you.

Yes it is .. it happened to us last summer. Our buyers dropped the price by just under 4% just before exchange. It was extremely frustrating but we didn’t want to lose the place we were buying so we ended up taking the hit. I still feel bitter about it - I did fantasise about leaving a kipper behind a radiator but decided to rise above it.
