cranial osteopath for babies

Postby new to nappies » Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:32 am

Can anyone recommend a cranial osteopath for babies? My newborn seems to be very agitated and cries a lot and a my SIL has suggested that i give it a try. Any recommendations would be very welcome.

Years ago, in a former life as a journalist, I did a piece on cranial osteopathy for babies and children at the Ostephathic Centre for Children.  What I saw was near on miraculous for some babies (and their stressed parents). I will never forget watching one baby who was red-faced and howling and although the osteopathy was almost imperceptible, the baby stopped crying after five minutes, let out the biggest sigh and was then completely calm.  It was the parent who then burst into tears!  The osteopath thought the neck had been jarred during birth and was causing discomfort and distress. It was incredible to see so in your shoes, I'd definitely try it.

Good luck.

Second vote for occ! I have been taking my baby there and it is great. I have also previously been to Alexandra and Laura Tilson osteo and liked her a lot but my lactation consultant suggested a second opinion which is why I then went to occ…

I can highly recommend Adam Beaumont who is based on Northcote Road. He worked absolute wonders with our first born

I thoroughly recommend to all my Ante & Post natal mothers Kieron or Emily at Back on Track Kingston Road Wimbledon near The Nelson Health Centre ( they also taught / worked at The British Osteopathic Centre for Children ) 02085450965 - 9 Merton Park Parade

Cranial osteopathy did wonders for my 3 month old. Had about 4/5 sessions. We used Ruth Levitan at The Recentre on Balham High Road. Such a calming lovely woman. And Magic hands!!

Huge thumbs up for Laura Tilson and her team at Laura Tilson Osteopathy. She works wonders with many of my clients and has clinics on both Battersea Rise and over in Surbiton.
