Wanted! A miniature sausage dog

Postby nicolap » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:49 pm

I am searching for a miniature sausage dog - red short haired, male or female and wondered if anyone knew anyone selling them in London or near enough - willing to travel to find one!

Please contact Nicola on 07815 754 294

Thank you!

Hi there

Your best bet would be to go to the Kennel Club for a list of accredited breeders, or the Dacshund Clubs (I think there are a few!) who probably have puppy lists......

Good Luck!

Thank you yes I have contacted them but sausage dogs go quickly! Have been on the phone all morning trying... and also they are using terms I have never heard of so need to get up to scratch on sausage dog lingo... :)

Thank you for your help though and will keep searching

Hi there, just wanted to say, google Fenella Fleur to read up on daxys. They are up north so although too far, they have an excellent website with breed info, including the premature blindness testing that you need to look for with daschund breeders now.
My mother in law is getting a pup from them. You could ring them to see if they know a breeder in London or the south east too?

Minatures are calmer than standards, and short hairs even more so apparently. Good luck!

I would just add be careful with where you get your dog from, always make sure you see the mother and both parents if possible. My sister-in-law got her dog via the Kennel Club and was very unlucky with a vast amount of health issues which followed and the vet bills as well!! She said she'd always get a dog via word of mouth and friends in the future, but of course this isn't always easy.

Good luck!

Hello. My mum is a registered breeder of mini dachunds. She usually breeds long haired but if you would like I can ask her if she knows a short hair breeder?
